Challenge #4: Button it up!

Hi everyone!
First we would like to say how happy we are to see 60+ entries for our challenge! We luv' ya! Thanks for the support!

This week we have a wonderful Sponsor!  Their stamps are just adorable and totally sweet!  Help us welcome Stamps and Smiles!  Next Saturday we will pick a random winner for a sweet prize from Stamps and Smiles!

Now, let's move into the challenge for this week, we want you to use 4 or MORE buttons in your project... well, that and AT LEAST one other challenge!  If you have some Stamps and Smiles stamps please be sure to show case them, but if you don't (check them out here).  You do NOT need to use Stamps and Smiles stamps to win the random prize!

Jennifer's cards (we just couldn't pick from either of them, they are just so sweet!)

Vicki's LO:

  • Pile It On! - Button it up!
  • Stamps and Smiles Tuesday Sketch - since I turned the sketch into a layout - this is obviously a VERY loose interpretation, but I just wanted to show you how versatile sketches are and that even if it doesn't look exactly like the sketch, it was inspirational!
  • 365 Cards - Day 118 - You've Been Framed - now I might be cheating on this one because as we all know that 365 is about cards and this is a layout, but.....since I have complied with the rules of Pile It On! of the Pile It On! challenge plus ONE other, I am listing it, even though I probably doesn't really count for 365.
  • Charisma Cardz stated to create ANYTHING you wanted this week, no theme, no restrictions, so....here's mine!
  • Scrap, Inspire, Create asked us to celebrate PARENTHOOD. The funny story behind this layout is that my daughter and her boyfriend Jimmy were gathering all the kids - mine and Jimmy's mother's to go have pictures taken for Mother's Day. Unfortunately, they had a bank account issue and were unable to have them taken. Since they were pretty much dressed and ready to go, I grabbed my camera and did the photos myself!! These are the three separate photos I took of each of my three children.
  • Use It - I am going to claim this one! They asked for something inspired by nature - which would be the flowers, polka dots - which I have, favorite embellishment - I have used several different "embellishments" and to mail it to someone special (I am just wondering if email counts here??)
There's one more thing I have to tell you about my creation today - which could break many rules for some challenge blogs - It's DIGITAL! If you want to hear my tale, hit my BLOG and I will go into more detail there.

Dalis' project:

And what you've all been waiting for - here are this week's TOP THREE SCOOPS!!

Challenge #3 - Let's see some PURPLE!

That's today's challenge - much to Dalis' dismay! Of course, I chose the challenge, so she's just got to suck it up and deal with it.

So - PURPLE - any shade, any amount. We just want to see purple on your card - well, that and AT LEAST one other challenge!  And yes, we have added Mr. Linky for easy management of the submissions.  Remember to put DT next to your name if you want to be considered for the DT (more information HERE!)  oh and Direct Links only on Mr. Linky, THANKS!

I will apologize in advance for the photo - my light source is ABOVE my cards, so I get a shadow whenever I ribbon the top like this. Here's mine:

  • Pile It On! (Obviously) - use purple! The ribbon is purple, the gems at the bottom are purple, the flower and the D in Friends are all purple. (Almost Amethyst to be exact on the flower and D)
  • Charisma Cards asked for sparkly. Their challenge is titled as Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend.
  • Three Clovers asked for a NO LAYER card. Now - most of you may notice I don't generally stamp. With a one layer card - and she was specific - you can embellish all you want - but NO EXTRA PAPER OR CARDSTOCK - what else was I going to do???

And now for Dalis and her BEAUTIFUL creation! She claims she doesn't like and can't work with purple - I TOTALLY disagree!!

And what you've all been waiting for - here are this week's TOP THREE SCOOPS!! You will each get a gift certificate for $10 to Savvy N Sassy! Ladies, please grab your blinkie!! (and Dalis did redesign the blinkie - so for the three of you who won last week, you can replace it with this one if you wish)

Copy the following code on your blog to add the blinkie.

Lesley - for this card:

Timi - for this layout:

Maureen - for this card:

And for the $10 Gift Certificate chosen by RANDOM.ORG is #68 - Ann!!! (Raindropecho)

Ladies - please email us for the information for the gift certificates!

And we are actually giving out a special award this week.   This award is an unexpected project that goes way beyond, you know like when you ask for an ice cream and your friend comes w/ a cone of your favorite ice cream and tops it with sprinkles JUST FOR YOU!  It won't be given out all the time though - just when we find the "Unexpected). Shari - be sure to grab your new blinkie!!

Copy the following code on your blog to add the blinkie.

We can't wait to see your creations this week!!

The girls at Savvy 'N Sassy (SNS) know their ribbon!  They make the most gorgeous Ribbon kits I have ever seen and their shipping is really low!  Plus they have tons of other "necessities" in the store.  Right now she is offering a sale where the more you buy the more you get back, check out their home page at the store.

A couple of questions answered....

There have been a couple of questions asked, so I would love to give everybody answers:

1. You can post as many times as you want! Just make sure at the time/day of posting, all your challenges are current.

2. Challenges run from Sunday at post time until Saturday night. We will pick the top three scoops on Sunday morning.

3. Please make sure you link the other challenges on your blog/post so we can go check out the challenges.

4. You do not have to use the challenges listed on our side bar. You can use any challenges you find. If we see something that's not listed, we will try to post it. If you see something that's not listed, please don't hesitate to let us know and we will be more than happy to get it onto the side bar.

5. You creations do not have to be cards! We would love to see your scrapbook pages and altered items as well!

6. ***ETA*** - When we say direct link - if you can use a hyperlink GREAT!! But we understand that not everybody knows how to do this, myself included. We will try to get some directions for you. But - as long as your URL bring us directly to your card - that's fine. We just don't want you to give us a general link to your blog where we would have to search through your whole blog in order to find the card.

UPDATED: Here is how you make a HOT link when leaving your comments! I have added this piece of information to the comment box. So every time you are going to leave us a link it is right there for you to see! -- dalis

7. How to add a widget or blinkie to your blog:

Right click on the blinkie/widget and do Save as into your computer.
1. Login to your Blogspot account.
2. Go to your "Dashboard" and click "Layout"
3. Click on the "Page elements" tab.
4. Click "ADD A GADGET", select "Picture" (it has a little tree image)
5. Now Fill up the information; you can leave almost everything , but we would love if you put the LINK: as http://pileitonchallenge.blogspot.com this will make your image link to our site directly. Then hit the "choose file" button and select the image you save on your computer.
6. Then hit save button
7. Now you are back into the "Page Elements" tab. Now you can drag and drop that TEXT widget to whichever place you want or leave it there where it is.

Ladies, we understand that you are having issues w/ the blinkie... I will put a new set of instructions tomorrow. What is going on is that the image is being save in the wrong format, some browsers on PCs will do that. But do not worry I got you ladies covered!

Thanks again to all of you that have been participating!! We are really enjoying seeing everybody's creations! And remember to note if you are applying for the DT. The DT call will go on until June 30th!

Welcome to the first challenge for PILE IT ON! In doing challenges, I found I love to combine them into one card/project - making the most of my time. I wanted to do ALL the challenges - so starting combining them - almost like an additional hobby to my hobby!

So I contacted my friend Dalis and asked her what she thought about partnering with me to create a new challenge blog. The theory behind the blog - PILE IT ON of course!! You must combine ONE OTHER CURRENT challenge with the PILE IT ON challenge.

The first challenge for PILE IT ON is to use a NON-STAMPED SENTIMENT.

So in my usual fashion, here it is:

Here are the challenges it covers:
  • Pile It On (of course!) - Non Stamped Sentiment - this was made using the QuicKutz Chemistry alphabet.
  • Our Creative Corner - Sketch
  • If The Shoe Fits - Color combination of pink & green
  • Heart Hugs - Etsy Inspiration - Chicy Creations - My inspirational pieces is HERE.
  • Secret Crafter - Bling - besides the glitter paper for the flower and non-stamped sentiment, I used rhinestones in the corners around the flower.
  • Cute Card Thursday - Punches - The flowers is a QuicKutz Revolution die and again the non-stamped sentiment is the QuicKutz Chemistry alphabet.
And that is the first challenge for PILE IT ON. Now, you only have to use ONE other challenge, and it must be current at the time of posting. You will need to link back to that challenge in your posting. We will be choosing our TOP THREE SCOOPS each week and they will be showcased on the blog. We are hoping to be able to give prizes from time to time, so watch for those. I do believe we have a sponsor coming up, so keep your eye out over for that and below these cute little ice cream cones is Dalis's creations, as well as an ANNOUNCEMENT, so keep on reading!!

Hi ladies! It's me Dalis! I will be giving you one more sample from our 1st Challenge and I will talk about our DT Call. Are you excited or what?

Vicki already spilled the beans about our first Challenge, it is sweet and short: NON-STAMPED SENTIMENT or TITLE in my case, since I am doing a page LO. I decided to use my old (this one is not old at all) and trusty stickers. You know you have them, in every single color just like yummy sprinkles. This sticker actually had a bicycle in between the two words but I thought it was just not going to go w/ the LO so I cut the bicycle out. Yes, I am giving you permission to alter your stickers if you see it fit. :)

The challenges it covers:
PILE IT ON! Challenge Blog

We are looking for our FIRST DESIGN TEAM - three designers to help us along with the samples making Pile It On! a success. At this moment no monetary or material compensation will be available, we are working on getting sponsors for both the Design Team and for prizes.

To apply for the DT call, all you have to do is play w/us during our first 3 challenges. You don't have to do all 3 challenges, but we will love if you play with us. Then when you link your card/LO/project to the challenge post just write 'DT submission' and give us a DIRECT link to your blog post. Last day to submit your entries is June 30th, we will announce our new team on July 5th.

As a Pile It On! DT you will get access to our private yahoo group where will have access to all the challenges in advance. You are responsible for one Card/LO/Project per week that follows Pile It On! mentality. We expect from you to leave comments on our participants Sweet entries. You will be responsible for coming up w/some of the challenges, we will divide them between all of us. You will get a DT blinkie for your blog and a Pile It On! watermark siggy for your images. Your picture will be posted in the Pile It On! blog, we are proud of our TEAM! And the most important thing is for you to have fun with us! The DT term will be of 4 months, so we can rotate and have new gals jump in the fun!
